Oral Surgery Preparations

At Greater Louisville Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates, our team will work closely in determing the best treatment process for your condition.  First, before-surgery orthodontics will better position your teeth for surgery.  This means braces will be worn for about 6 to 18 months prior to the surgery. Your progress will be monitored by your orthdontist and our team.  When the orthodontist has aligned your teeth in the best position, your surgery will be scheduled.

 

At Greater Louisville Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates, our surgeries are performed typically at a hospital or surgery center while you are "asleep" with general anesthesia.  The length of the operation will depend upon the type of surgery performed.  A brief hospital stay may be warranted after surgery for monitoring.
