Cosmetic Facial Surgery
Cosmetic facial surgery is used to repair malformations due to disease, injury, burns, birth defects or aging. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons have extensive training in the management of the hard (bone) and soft (skin, muscle) tissues of the face and jaws. Cosmetic surgery may be performed in the office or hospital depending on the patient's health, the surgery performed and type of anesthesia desired. Since most cosmetic surgery is elective, careful consultation with a surgeon should be obtained before deciding if surgery is for you.
